Burbank Tigers broke the deadlock in their last at bats, pulling out a 7 to 6
win over the SSB SSB Tar Heels and sending their hometown fans home
smiling.
The deciding run was scored by Burbank in the 9th. After an out was recorded,
Adam Dunn smacked a single. Jim Thome stepped up to the plate and he drew a
walk. After another out, Juan Uribe came up and he was walked intentionally
to load the bases. Willie Harris was up next and he stroked a one-base hit
making Burbank victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd. Burbank
had 11 hits for the game and SSB had 8.
Luis Ayala(2-3) was the winner allowing 1 run in 1 inning. Dan Wheeler(3-3)
was charged with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and 2 hits in 2
and 1/3 innings.
